"ALWAYS DOWN FOR A JAM SESSION OVER JAMMIES."

WHY JUSTINESLIFE?

It all started back in 2012 as a questionable Instagram name.

Curiosity had gotten the best of me, and I decided to lightly tread the waters of IG, to see what all the hype was about. Quickly learning this required a login, I wasn’t too picky. I mean, I never actually intended to use this silly photo-sharing platform. After failing to secure @justine_brown (my twitter handle), and realizing I DEFINITELY wasn’t cool enough for @justine, I settled on @justineslife. I've yet to remember why.

Cut to 2016, Justineslife is still holding on strong. I have 900+ posts on that silly photo-sharing platform (that has over 400 million active users), and now, a “brand” with the same name.

I’m glad it stuck and I love what it’s grown into.

Not only has “Justineslife” become a term coined, largely by my friends, to describe the essence of my often unexplainable, unpredictable, spontaneous, no-two-days-the-same life, Justineslife is a lifestyle. It means taking in each day for what it is, making the most of it, prioritizing happiness, welcoming life’s up-and-down adventure with resiliency and optimism, and understanding that no matter what today held, tomorrow can and will be different.

My hope is that through sharing stories, Justineslife will inspire others to live life for oneself and be fearless in pursuit of joy and the dreams that lie inside of you. This space is not only an outlet of expression for me, but a platform to build a community with and feel connected. I love people. I love conversation. Let’s do it together, let’s collaborate, let’s inspire, let’s motivate and let’s encourage one another.

In reference to the quote on the homepage, I truly believe we should go confidently in the direction of our dreams and we can live the life we’ve imagined.

*DISCLAIMER: There’s absolutely no telling what could grace these pages. Some days might be sports, some days might be sneakers. Some days might be music, some days might be muses. Some days might be stories and other days, only thoughts. And some days might just flat out SUCK, but that’s the beauty of it being my own! Free game. So strap in and enjoy the ride!

ABOUT JUSTINE

My sister probably best sums it up with the quote above, but if I had to describe myself, I’d say I’m a genuinely happy, optimistic, spontaneous, sports, travel and sneaker aficionado with a passion for people and human connection. (Also, short winded and good at constructing sentences.)

I could be described as having a talking problem if you ask any teacher who ever filled out my report card, however I happen to think it’s been one of my greatest assets.

Raised in Wisconsin, I have a Midwest heart and Midwest values with a big city mindset. Always have. This inevitably led me to LA, where I currently reside.

Consistently down for the adventure, my life is non-stop and I love it. I’m terrible with the word no, but consequently am in awe of where all of the yes’s have taken me. Quite frankly, I function best flying by the seat of my pants. Routine just isn’t my thing, hence the ‘no two days the same.’

You’ll quickly learn that I’m a #VFL (Vol For Life), having spent four of the best years of my life at the University of Tennessee studying journalism, while working for the legendary Pat Summitt. (I won’t let the fact that you’re an Alabama fan get in the way of us, I’ll just try to make you a better person.)

I believe anything in life can be summed up with a couple of hip-hop lyrics and just like the rest of us, I’m still trying to figure it all out. In the meantime, I’m happy. I’m healthy. My bills are paid. Life is good.

Werk Werk Werk

When it comes to the daily grind, you can find me span across the digital space. Working largely with brands, celebrities and athletes, I have a passion and expertise for social media, content creation and overall digital brand management. I find my “position” tends to be ever evolving to cater to the need at hand and that’s the part I love.

With a career that originated in sports journalism, my sights were set on television broadcasting, but as the process would have it, I unexpectedly fell in love with writing and radio. It is these passions and the outlet they provided that played a major influence in leading me here.

That's the just(ine) of things, but if you want to know more, you can connect with me on social media at the links below or even shoot me a friendly email! I want to know you too!
